National Trust for Scotland podcast bags brace of prizes

THE National Trust for Scotland podcast has bagged a brace of awards.

The Love Scotland podcast was named as the “brand extension of the year” and the “podcast of the year” at the Professional Publishers’ Association (PPA) Scotland Awards in Edinburgh.

Judges described the podcast as “world class”.

“It is slick, informative and ambitious, and demonstrates a high level of knowledge and passion,” they added.

They also praised “its interesting content, engaging storytelling, and impressive performance making it a true extension to the brand portfolio”.

The podcast, which is hosted by television presenter and NTS president Jackie Bird, is now in its fourth series.

“It’s been a joy to bring the National Trust for Scotland’s people and places to a wider audience through the podcast,” said Bird.

“Podcasting is such an intimate medium that you can take anywhere.

“It allows the listener to become totally immersed in the fascinating aspects of Scotland’s history, its natural environment and how it can be protected.”

The latest episode, which was released today, features vet and adventurer Cal Major.

Founded in 1931, NTS is the nation’s largest conservation charity.
