A New York life and style brand is opening its eighth store in Europe – and its first in Scotland.
Kate Spade New York is to open its newest boutique in Glasgow as it continues to expand globally.
Kate Spade New York’s new Glasgow shop at Princes Square is a celebration of the new brand vision under creative director Nicola Glass, reflecting Glass’ unique evolution of the brand’s original house codes—thoughtful design, modern color, the spade — throughout.
Tonal shades of pink, rose gold and signature deep green form a sophisticated palette to highlight the brand’s collections, and provide the architectural foundation for a textural, sensory experience: inside there are mixed material accents like marble, velvet and metal.
Plush grey carpets are inlayed into wood floors. The walls are done in the brand’s new signature matte pink and rose gold-striped wallpaper. Meanwhile, softly curved fixtures, furniture, high-polished lacquered pedestals and mannequin displays further reinforce the modern femininity at the heart of the brand.
Nicola said: ‘We’re incredibly proud to be unveiling our new vision for the Kate Spade New York store experience in Glasgow.
‘Our brand and everything we make are a celebration of women—their personal style, confidence and realness. I’ve seen so much opportunity to evolve the brand since I started, and for me this new retail vision is a much more modern expression of our original DNA and personality.
‘Ultimately, my goal as Creative Director is to create a vision and develop collections that the original customer, the current customer, and, very importantly, a new customer will find extremely covetable. We’re excited to be sharing our vision of optimistic femininity with the Scottish consumer.’
Andrew Foulds, portfolio director for Redevco (owners of Princes Square) said: ‘Kate Spade New York’s arrival at Princes Square is a landmark for Scotland’s retail sector.
‘This truly global fashion and lifestyle brand is renowned for setting trends that others follow so we are delighted to be home to its first high street boutique in the UK outside London and to join Tokyo, Paris and New York on its list of international locations.’
The 1,195 square feet store, located in Princes Square, offers multiple product categories including handbags, ready-to-wear, fashion accessories, small leather goods, tech accessories, jewellery, watches, footwear, eyewear and gifting, creating a shopping destination with a wide range of products distinctively designed for a woman’s life – from everyday luxuries to special occasion pieces.
