The success of its Scottish Gin and Beer Festivals has promoted a leading supermarket to relaunch several of its most popular alcohol lines.
After flying off the shelves during last year’s Scottish Gin and Beer Festivals, ALDI is again celebrating the drinks created by some of Scotland’s top craft distilleries and breweries.
On sale now, Eden Mill’s Rhubarb, Ginger & Blackcurrant Gin Liqueur (£14.99, 50cl) is one of the latest creations to be added to the St Andrews based distiller’s Botanical Project, available exclusively from ALDI stores in Scotland. The zingy and refreshing gin liqueur was recently awarded bronze at this year’s International Spirits Challenge and can be enjoyed neat over ice or mixed with tonic, perfect for summer parties and barbeques.
The gin liqueur is joined by a selection of craft beers and ales, including Raspberry Mafia (330ml, £1.39), a fruity and thirst quenching saison made with 100 per cent Scottish raspberries, and Stravaig (330ml, £1.39), a light and crisp Session IPA. Both brews are new for this summer and have been created exclusively for ALDI by Stewart Brewing, winner of Brewery of the Year at the 2018 Scottish Beer Awards.
Also back by popular demand is Fallen Brewing’s Wanganui (330ml, £1.39), a fresh and vibrant Kiwi Pale Ale, and Gose Train (330ml, £1.39), a light and refreshing sour wheat beer, both available exclusively from ALDI stores in Scotland.
Meanwhile, Six Degrees North’s Brevet Saison (330ml, £1.39), a fruity and zesty pale ale with notes of raspberry and lemon, and Hopocrosy (330ml, £1.39), a refreshing pale ale with notes of apricot and apple, make a return after sell-out appearances at last year’s Scottish Beer Festivals.
Graham Nicolson, group buying director, Aldi Scotland said: ‘Scotland’s craft drinks sector continues to thrive, and for summer 2019 we have selected some of our best-selling lines to make a return.
‘At ALDI, we’re always looking for unique Scottish products to add to our range and we are proud to work with ambitious and innovative companies like Eden Mill, Stewart Brewing, Fallen Brewing, and Six Degrees North.’
