We all enjoy trying something new, and putting a Scottish staple in a Japanese recipe is a surefire winner.
Today’s recipe comes courtesy of Umi, a newly opened Japanese restaurant based in the Stockbridge, Edinburgh.
There are red crimped lanterns, some horigotatsu tables with cushions, and a mural of a street scene. It offers a relax oasis for its guests, like its sister venues (Kenji Sushi and Bentoya), the menu offers diners something different to try.
Umi was opened with the aim of bringing authentic Japanese ramen to Scotland’s capital.
They believe ramen can bring joy and happiness to a diner’s day. They aim to offer high quality, authentic food at an affordable price. Umi offers classic dishes with a twist and some newcomers which you may have never tried before.
Umi is based at 18-24 Deanhaugh Street, Edinburgh.
