Gin lovers are being invited to Glasgow’s Merchant City to discover Byron Bay’s Brookie’s Gin in a one-off masterclass.
Taking place on 11 June from 7.30pm, the special event will be hosted by well-known Merchant City bar and restaurant, The Spiritualist on Miller Street. The venue is known for its experimental cocktails, expert mixologists and vast range of spirits.
The distillers will be taking guests through their story and explaining the craftsmanship behind the award-winning spirit. Guests will discover Brookie’s signature cocktails before trying their hand at mixing their own Brookie’s creation with the help of The Spiritualist’s mixologists.
The evening will begin with a tour through Brookie’s tropical botanicals, native to the region of Byron Bay, and dive into the story of the gin. Guests will be taken through Brookie’s two expressions, Dry and Slow, which will be paired with some bar bites from The Spiritualist’s menu.
General manager at The Spiritualist, Christine O’Hagan, said: ‘We are really looking forward to welcoming Brookie’s Gin to The Spiritualist for a one-off masterclass. They will be bringing a touch of Byron Bay to the Merchant City and taking us through their two expressions, Dry and Slow.
‘Brookie’s contains 26 botanicals of which 18 are native to the region of the tropical Northern Rivers, including Bryon Sunrise Finger Limes, Aniseed Myrtle and Macadamia making it a unique addition to any drink.
‘At The Spiritualist, Brookie’s Gin features in a number of bespoke cocktails focussing on the predominant botanicals found in Brookie’s taste profile. Those attending the masterclass will be able to try their hand at creating their perfect Brookie’s serve with the help of The Spiritualist’s mixologists. We are excited to see the concoctions our guests create!’
