Ayrshire band Biffy Clyro have released details of their first acoustic album ahead of their unplugged tour later this year.
Following in the footsteps of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and REM, Biffy recorded MTV Unplugged: Live at Roundhouse London on 8 November last year and the album will go on sale on 25 May.
It features favourites from the band’s catalogue including Machines, Many of Horror, Re-arrange and Medicine, with songs stripped backed to their essence, adding a certain poignancy.
The album also presents special treats for Biffy fans, with a take on the Beach Boys’ classic God Only Knows, and brand new original song, Different Kind of Love.
Biffy Clyro ‘MTV Unplugged’ will premiere in the UK on Friday 25 May at 9pm on MTV and at 10pm on MTV Music.
The album will be released on digital, CD, CD/DVD and a special vinyl/CD/DVD boxset. Pre-orders are now available from mtvunplugged.biffyclyro.com
Those who pre-order the album from the official Biffy Clyro store will receive a pre-sale code for the band’s MTV Unplugged tour which commences in September.
It comes to Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on 21 September and tickets go on sale on 11 May.
