Mactaggart & Mickel Homes have become the first housebuilder in Scotland to be awarded the coveted Investors in People Platinum accreditation – and the second across the UK.
The IIP Platinum accolade is the highest level which can be achieved against the Investors in People Standard. Only 2% of IIP-accredited organisations in the UK – just 78 companies – have attained this standard.
The award recognises the success of the family-owned company’s commitment to develop, reward and support employees.
Marion Forbes, director at Mactaggart & Mickel Homes, said: ‘Last year we launched Mactaggart & Mickel & YOU – an initiative developed to bring together everything we do for our people under one banner.
‘The individual elements – spanning workplace support, career development, reward & recognition, and health and safety – have been instrumental in delivering sustainable business benefits. This accolade is a testament to the success of this programme.
‘We are immensely proud of our employees and their achievements and are committed to continuing to invest in initiatives that support both our business aspirations and our people’s ambitions.’
Peter Russian, chief executive of Re:markable – the organisation licensed to run the Investors in People programme in Scotland – said: ‘Huge congratulations to Mactaggart & Mickel Homes on their fantastic achievement in gaining Investors in People Platinum.
‘Alongside their Platinum award, their ongoing dedication and commitment to their people is recognised through their low staff turnover, high rates of length of service and continued growth and profitability.
‘We look forward to continuing to work with the organisation and seeing how they evolve and enhance the fantastic programmes, initiatives and approaches which they currently have in place.’
Glasgow-headquartered Mactaggart & Mickel Group are currently expanding into England, having acquired four housebuilding sites in Oxfordshire. A new office in Cheltenham opened earlier this year.
The company’s homes division is currently constructing or marketing homes at 12 sites stretching from the Ayrshire coast and Greater Glasgow to Central Scotland and East Lothian.
