From storing food to serving it, The Tolbooth Seafood Restaurant in Stonehaven harbour is heaven for a pescatarian.
The Tolbooth was originally built as a store for Dunnottar Castle, the medieval fortress on a rocky headland by Stonehaven.
The Tolbooth Seafood Restaurant on the first floor of the building has been owned by Eddie Abbott for the last ten years. Below it is a museum – including some prison cells, which act as a reminder of its previous incarnation as a courthouse and jail.
Situated in the harbour and just a couple of metres from the water, it makes sense that The Tolbooth serves up the freshest seafood.
