Rooms II is challenging gallery norms

A Scots gallery is presenting Rooms II – an exhibition curated by the Green Gallery and Steven Burgess Fine Furniture this weekend.

The Green Gallery have joined forces with Steven Burgess Fine Furniture for the second year running.

They believe they are the only gallery in Scotland do this – creating room set ups, but want to challenge gallery norms and mix styles, furniture and objects in a more relaxed fashion.

By thoughtfully placing art and design led pieces in a livable space, sort of layering the gallery as you would a home, customers can then see how different things can work together.

A preview event was held recently, and a second is now taking place this weekend on March 17.

A spokesman said: ‘We had a great turnout last Sunday for the opening of Rooms II but due to the unpredictable weather we did have a few call offs.

‘We’ve decided to have another preview with fizz and nibbles this Sunday (don’t say we don’t spoil you!)

‘We are over the moon with how spectacular the gallery is looking which is down to the amazing work from our artists and beautiful furniture from Steven Burgess. The combination just works but don’t take our word for it, come and see for yourselves.

‘Why not bring a friend for a fabulous afternoon out?’

All the artists work and live in Scotland, with a couple of exceptions who live down south.

The special preview takes place on Sunday, 17 March, from 2-5pm. The Green Gallery is open daily every day from 11am-5pm and closed Thursdays.

The Green Gallery can be found at Ballamenoch, Buchlyvie, Stirlingshire, FK8 3NX.
