Beer and music festival comes to South Queensferry

The Ferry Fest is returning to South Queensferry after hosting a record number of visitors last year.

On Saturday 29 June, the hotly anticipated festival is set to stage an even bigger event than before. The organisers at Ferry Brewery hope to maintain their title as the area’s largest outdoor beer and music festival.

The headline event, beginning at noon and running until 8pm, will include award-winning breweries alongside Ferry Brewery’s own ales like Fierce Dead End Machine and Alechemy breweries.

Showcasing South Queensferry, the royal Burgh of West Lothian, to the whole of Scotland is the driving force behind these events. Edinburgh-based Brewmaster and Director of Ferry Brewery, Mark explains: ‘Last year we had visitors from Glasgow, Falkirk, Bo’ness, Livingston, Bathgate, Broxburn, Dunfermline to Glenrothes, Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. Everywhere, you name it!

‘To be able to host an event of this scale and attract and bring people together from all over Scotland to South Queensferry is very rewarding.

‘We are very excited to be hosting Ferry Fest 19 and hopefully we can see even more faces from places of Scotland afar, ready to share their stories with us over a beer while gazing across one of Scotland’s famous bridges.’

As well as award-winning breweries, there will be a prosecco and wine bar. Cider and food will also be available from street food vendors like GastroGrilla, The Thirsty Pallet and Mimi’s Bakehouse.

Ferry Fest 19 is taking place at The Ferry Brewery, Bankhead Farm Steading, South Queensferry – with early-bird tickets already sold out, but remaining general entry priced at £10 a ticket (12pm entry and first drink free) and VIP entry priced at £15 a ticket (11.15am priority entry, first drink free and a gift bag). Kids under 10 can attend for free.

The Ferry Brewery is the first and only brewery in South Queensferry since 1851.
