FREE PICTURE:  Anne Brown Prize Winner at Wigtown Book Festival, Mon 25/09/2023: 
 Author Rodge Glass (correct, centre) has been named the winner of the 2023 Anne Brown Essay Prize for Scotland.
 The Ā£1,500 prize, established in 2021 by the family of the late BBC Scotland journalist and Wigtown Festival Company chair Anne Brown, celebrates the best literary essay by a Scottish writer. 
 Best-known for his biography of Alasdair Gray, Glassā€™s essay On the Covenant explores his relationship with his Jewish family and the idea of what belonging and ties of blood mean. 
 The Essay Prize, which was this year run in association with The Herald, was awarded yesterday [Sunday, 24 September 2023] at a special event at Wigtown Book Festival.
