Chef Jimmy Lee develops Shanghai Teahouse menu

Shanghai Teahouse, an opulent Cantonese restaurant, has opened its doors in Bothwell this week.

The new 1500 sq ft restaurant on the outskirts of Glasgow is bringing authentic Chinese food to the neighbourhood straight from Shanghai with an extensive menu developed by Asian-Scots Celebrity Chef Jimmy Lee.

Jimmy from the multi-awarding winning Lychee Oriental in Glasgow have spent months mentoring the kitchen team at Shanghai Teahouse to help expand their knowledge of oriental cooking and design a menu that combines traditional flavours with modern cooking techniques.

Blending traditional and contemporary Chinese culture, the 60 cover restaurant offers a range of fresh and vibrant dishes in an elegant setting.

The A La Carte menu includes favourites such Chargrilled Chicken Satay Skewers and Spare Ribs in Peking Sauce for starter and Kung Po Chicken and Traditional Chinese Curry for main. Specialities featured include Twice Cooked Pork Belly with Black Bean Sauce and Steamed Halibut Fillets with Ginger, Soy and Spring Onion.
