‘Yes, Yes, Yes, It’s The Awesome NHS’

Dear readers and patrons,

This picture of The Inn at Kingsbarns has the words “Yes, Yes, Yes, It’s The Awesome NHS”.

We made the sign in April last year and it was inspired by The Kinks’ song from 1967, Yes, Yes, Yes, It’s My Autumn Almanac.

We have changed other lyrics in this song for the NHS and it would be great if The Kinks or a connected person to Ray and Dave Davies sees this advert and asks them to re-recorded the song so that all the revenues accrued can go to the awesome doctors, nurses, ambulance crews, cleaners, and office staff of the awesome NHS.

This covid-19 certainly looks like being with us until autumn this year so, to show our gratitude to the NHS, we will donate all our profits from our takings in the bar and restaurant at The Inn at Kingsbarns to the awesome NHS every year on the day the NHS was launched.

Why doesn’t the UK have a day for the NHS? The NHS was launched at Park Hospital Davyhulme in Manchester on 5 July 1948, so are suggesting we all have a celebration NHS day every year on that date to remember the sacrifice the key workers make every day that they work and not just during the coronavirus pandemic.
