As the trend for craft beer continues to grow, Lidl has announced the launch of its first Scottish craft beer festival, which will be on sale from 25th May for a limited time only across all of it 94 stores in Scotland.
The new ‘Isle of Ale’ Scottish Craft Beer festival consists of 20 craft beers* sourced from 13 Scottish micro-breweries in a combined deal worth more than £130,000 [for business/trade press only, remove for consumer news]. The line-up includes Disco Forklift Truck from Drygate in Glasgow, St Andrews Mocha Porter from St Andrews Brewery in Fife, Tempest Pale Armadillo from the Tempest Brew Co in Galashiels, Fierce Ginga Ninja from Fierce Beer in Aberdeen,Barneys Volcano IPA from Barney’s Beer in Edinburgh and Orkney Gold from the Orkney Brewery.
The craft beers, which come in a mix of eye-catching cans and bottles, include lager, pale ale, golden ale, blonde ale, IPA, dark ale, black IPA, and porter. All products will be found in Scottish stores under the ‘Isle of Ale’ section from 25th May.
The beers are further evidence of the supermarket’s ongoing drive and commitment to support Scottish suppliers. Currently, Lidl stocks around 300 Scottish products, with Lidl set to increase this number by a further 25% this year.
