Wherever you head in Scotland now, it won’t take you long before you see Santa, tinsels, presents and lots of fake snow.
But children are being given the chance to play in real snow after visiting Santa when the magical Santa and the Snow experience opened to the public at Braehead shopping centre, near Glasgow, at the weekend.
Hosted by Snow Factor and the popular leisure destination Soar at intu Braehead, Santa and the Snow promises excited young visitors a fun-filled, 2-hour festive experience, including:
An Elf School where children will take the Elf Oath and learn to tiptoe Elf Style.
A visit to Santa’s workshop to make their very own Christmas decoration to take home.
Meeting Santa, receiving a Christmas gift and listening as a group to a story from Father Christmas.
The chance to enjoy a special snow-play area in Snow Factor, including the fun of making snow angels and building snow castles.
Running every day until Christmas Eve, organisers have already seen high public demand for tickets to the experience that must be pre-booked through Snow Factor.
On 30 November at 11am, Santa and the Snow will also feature a ‘quiet’ session reserved exclusively to accommodate the needs of children with sensory needs. The final two daily experiences of Santa and the Snow will be twilight sessions, with the children read a bedtime story by Santa.
All of the festive fun starts this Saturday within the main concourse in Soar at Intu Braehead. Tickets cost £19.95 per child (ages 3-16) and £9.95 (for infants aged 2 or under and for each accompanying adult. Babies under 1 go free). Families can also pre-book to reserve the hugely popular Dine with Santa experience that opens within Snow Factor on 24 November.
Jamie Smith, owner of Snow Factor, Scotland’s only year-round indoor snow-sports facility, said: ‘Demand for tickets is already high as Santa and his elves make their final preparations for opening their door this Saturday to share the all fun and excitement of Santa and the Snow.
‘For what should be a fun-filled time of year for all children, the wee one’s will love taking the Elf Oath, meeting Santa and playing in real snow. Snow Factor and Soar at Intu Braehead look forward to welcoming everyone for some truly magical pre-Christmas fun.’
