Creative forces unite for craft and quilting show

The Scottish Quilting Show is joining the Creative Craft Show next month.

More than 200 exhibitors are expected, bringing visitors an extensive selection of products, workshops, demonstrations and inspiring feature displays, the three-day show is a firm date for any craft enthusiast’s calendar.

Beautiful patchwork and quilts made by world leading quilt artists, groups and guilds groups will take centre stage at the Scottish Quilting show for visitors to study. Enjoy exciting exhibitions that encourage all aspects of this delightful and wonderfully creative art form.

With a huge selection of fabrics, yarns and threads to choose from, visitors can stock up on haberdashery while at the show to create their own quilt masterpieces at home.

New to the show this year will be the World Wide Whisper feature. This exciting programme challenges five countries to each create 12 quilts.

Much like Chinese Whispers, one person starts the challenge, and creates a quilt based on a landscape picture of their country. They then take a picture of their quilt and send this on to the next person who produces a second quilt based on the picture they receive, and so on resulting in some astounding pieces of quilted work. There will be people taking part from Scotland, Netherlands, USA, Ireland and Canada – a real global quilt challenge. The fantastic results will be on display for visitors to see.

A must-visit for those who love to knit, stitch and sew, the show will be filled with the very latest innovations and new products to discover and try. Exhibitors will be offering on-stand demonstrations and workshops where visitors can brush up on existing skills or try a new craft. Creative textiles, millinery and mixed media as well as embroidery and lace will be represented.

Also on hand at the show will be ink textile, needle-felting and jewellery workshops with all the latest and innovative methods and ideas as well as lively on-stand demos. Those who love all things craft should be sure to put a date in their calendar for The Creative Craft Show and The Scottish Quilting Show this March.
