Delight at being named best small hotel in the UK

A Scottish hotel has been honoured as the UK’s best small hotel.

Best Loved Hotels hosted a black tie awards ceremony in The Assembly Room of The King’s Head Hotel, Cirencester, which was attended by the UK’s top hoteliers.

The Best Loved Awards, now in their fourth year, celebrated a whole host of winners, representing the Best of the Best of their UK, Irish and international hotel portfolio – all independently-owned, across the country’s regions, and thirteen specialist categories. The awards attracted over 7,500 nominations from customers all over the world.

Picking up the Boutique Award (for best small hotel). sponsored by PSL Food Professionals, was the Kilcamb Lodge Hotel near Strontian, in the Highlands.

Owners Sally and David Fox said: ‘This award is made extra special since it is voted for by our guests, so a big thank you to everyone who took the time to cast their vote for us.

‘Very special thanks must go to our wonderful team at Kilcamb Lodge for their continued support and professional excellence.

‘This award it theirs, really, and following a 3rd AA Rosette for our Kitchen, it is another shining accolade in recognition of the great team of people who make Kilcamb Lodge such a special place in the hearts of all who visit.’

The Style Award (for the best interior), sponsored by I Booked on Line, went to the Dunalastair Hotel Suites, Pitlochry.

In the Regional Awards, sponsored by Direct Hotel Marketing, the prize for Scotland went to the Blackaddie House Hotel, Dumfries.
