The Dalmore announced a landmark opportunity to experience the renowned Highland single malt whisky on board the world’s only ocean liner, Queen Mary 2.
Guests will be able to book the new whisky experience on board Queen Mary 2 between Southampton and New York.
At the same time, an exclusive whisky experience will be offered on board during the Transatlantic Crossing.
The ‘whisky flight’ is a popular way to sample a selection of Single Malt whiskies. The Dalmore has developed a series of distinctive flights at key accounts worldwide, including the recent 100 Years of The Dalmore, available at The Bacarrat Hotel, New York.
The whisky experience on board Queen Mary 2 is a rare opportunity to attend a presentation by the Dalmore master distiller, Richard Paterson.
He said: ‘The Dalmore is celebrated in iconic locations around the world. We see celebrations of The Dalmore at Bacarrat Hotel New York, at 40,000 feet on board Emirates First Class, and now a unique opportunity to savour the Cunard whisky flight at 28 knots.
‘To journey to New York City, surrounded by the definitive style and elegance of Cunard, will truly be very special indeed. Cunard’s story has important chapters here in Scotland. The birthplace of iconic Cunard ships that launched on the Clyde, to then sail the world.’
The Dalmore is home to some of the world’s oldest whisky stocks, with new expressions and releases developed which reflect the craftsmanship, artistry and knowledge of the distillery’s team. Richard sources exquisite casks from renowned bodegas and wineries, to make the Highland Single Malt Whisky, which is available worldwide in fine food, dining and retail locations – and now on board Queen Mary 2.
The announcement marks an incredible year for The Dalmore. In March The Dalmore partnered famed Italian chef Massimo Bottura, maestro behind the current World’s No.1 Restaurant, Osteria Francescana, Italy, to create a one-of-a-kind Single Malt Whisky.
L’Anima, by The Dalmore, was created by Bottura and Richard Paterson, exclusively for auction via Sotheby’s. L’Anima was launched at an invitation-only ‘pop-up’ experience produced by Bottura, at Sotheby’s New York.
Queen Mary 2 will welcome two rare expressions on board from The Dalmore Constellation Collection, a limited edition collection of individual casks released by The Dalmore as the perfect example of how rare casks produce a carefully composed spirit.
The Dalmore was founded by Sir Alexander Matheson in 1839, a restless entrepreneur and international businessman.
Richard Paterson has been master distiller at The Dalmore for nearly 50 years. The whiskies he has created during his tenure have helped
Richard to become one of the most iconic and respected whisky makers of his generation
