A new chapter has begun in the life of a popular country park.
Barmoor Park Country Park, in Lowick, Berwick-upon-Tweed, has officially opened its new building, Hedley Hall.
It was a special occasion for the Lamb family, who own and run the park, as it is named after Hedley, the co-founder of the park.
Ann and Hedley Lamb bought Barmoor Castle in 1979 and then spent 11 years transforming the neglected castle grounds to make it into a beautiful holiday park.
The family worked tirelessly to create a stunning holiday destination, full of trees, wildlife, and quality holiday homes. Sadly, Hedley died in 2011, but his name lives on with the opening of the new facility.
Nearly 30 years on, Barmoor Castle is still run by the Lamb family, with baby Freddie, the newest addition, marking the next generation for Barmoor Castle, as Ann, son Jamie and his wife Jodi have continued to run the park.
A spokesman for the park said: ‘Lord Joicey of Ford & Etal officially opened our new building Hedley Hall after Hedley Lamb, who is much missed at Barmoor Castle.
‘A very big thank you to everyone who came and helped us celebrate.
‘The sunshine, the new beer Barmoor Brew created especially for the occasion, and the hog roast, made for a great afternoon.
‘We really enjoyed spending time with all who could make it.’
The reception and office have been moved to Hedley Hall, offering wonderful views over the lake.
The family are now looking for ideas for hobby classes and talks that they can hold in the new hall. There is an ideas board that visitors can add their idea to, with early ideas including a book club, flower arranging and history talks.
