An annual event loved by hundreds of thousands of children across Britain is coming to Scotland.
The highly anticipated CBeebies Christmas show will take place for the first time in Scotland this year with performances at Festival Theatre Edinburgh.
Four live theatre performances of this year’s show – an adaptation of fairy-tale classic Hansel and Gretel – will be recorded at Festival Theatre Edinburgh across the weekend of October 26 and 27 with the special Christmas programme airing on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer on Saturday, December 7.
The show will again feature many of CBeebies’ most popular actors and presenters, including, for the first time, Waffle the Wonder Dog.
Once again, families will also be able to experience the magic of the Christmas show on the ‘big screen’ as it hits cinemas across the UK with additional exclusive content.
The 2019 audience are set to be taken on a winter adventure through an enchanted forest as the story of Hansel and Gretel unfolds.
The core message of the show is ‘never give up’ and the siblings have to overcome the many dangers of the deep, dark wood, but with the help of magical woodland creatures and by not giving up, the pair proves that the only thing that matters at Christmas is being together.
Tickets for CBeebies Presents: Hansel & Gretel will go on sale on two set days. Half of the tickets (for both Saturday and Sunday) go on general sale at 10am on Thursday 19 September. The other half go on sale at 10am on Thursday 26 September. Tickets are priced at £15 for adults, £10 for children.
The show will be available on CBeebies and on BBC iPlayer from 7 December. There will also be an opportunity to see the show before 7 December for a short run in cinemas nationwide from 30 November, these screenings include additional exclusive content.
