The organisers of the Edinburgh Food Festival have announced plans to double the schedule for this year’s annual foodie event.
It will now take place at Assembly George Square Gardens over 10 days from 19-28 July. The festival welcomes visitors of all ages and the entry and the talks is free and non-ticketed.
To mark the fifth anniversary of Edinburgh’s only city centre food festival, Assembly has revealed plans for a new bumper line-up. These include a series of meet the local producer events and chef demos, as well as over 20 local producers and street food stallholders serving up some of Scotland’s best contemporary food and drink.
With quality Scottish food at the heart of it, Assembly Edinburgh Food Festival is a fantastic introduction for residents in the Lothians and visitors alike to get a flavour for what Scotland’s larder has to offer.
Edinburgh Food Festival has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2014, hosting some of Scotland’s top chefs and restaurateurs, including Carina Contini of Contini Edinburgh, Shirley Spear from The Three Chimneys on the Isle of Skye, Tom Lewis from Monachyle Mhor and Neil Forbes from Edinburgh’s Cafe St Honore.
The Festival welcomed over 25,000 visitors in 2018 and is now expected to be bigger and better than ever in 2019.
