Ballindalloch Castle
Ballindalloch is one of the most romantic castles in Scotland and houses an exquisite collection of 17th
century Spanish paintings collected by Sir John Macpherson-Grant in 1850.
Glenlivet estate
Stretching over 23,000 hectares in the Cairngorms National Park, the Glenlivet Estate offers breathtaking landscapes of ecological and historical importance, and excellent visitor facilities.
Scottish Dolphin Centre
Based at Spey Bay, where you can see dolphins on a regular basis, as well as ospreys, seals, birds and even otters. Tours include a dolphin walk, a tour of the UK’s largest icehouse and much more.
Fly fishing
The River Spey is perfectly suited to fly fishing for salmon. Its tributaries, the River Avon and River Dulnain, are also excellent salmon rivers in their own right.
Moray Motor Museum
Should you be in Speyside on a rainy day, you can always stop at the Moray Motor Museum in Elgin. You can get a real up-close look at 40 classic cars and motorbikes in the relaxed atmosphere of this museum.
Logie Steading
This collection of farm buildings house art galleries, antiques and second-hand book shops. Logie Gardens are open throughout the year and there is a play park for the kids.
The Malt Whisky Trail
Speyside is home to the world’s largest concentration of whisky distilleries and the Malt Whisky Trail is the ultimate Scotch experience featuring nine centres of whisky excellence. The trail consists of the following Speyside distilleries and a cooperage: Benromach, Cardhu, Dallas Dhu, Glen Grant, Glen Moray, Glenfiddich, The Glenlivet, Strathisla and Speyside Cooperage.
Birdwatching
Speyside has much to offer for birdwatchers. This is one of the best places in the UK to spot crested tits, Scottish crossbills, capercaillie and ptarmigan. So take your camera and keep your eyes open.
Johnstons of Elgin Cashmere Heritage Centre
Based in Elgin, this five-star visitor attraction offers a guided tour of the mill to see the manufacturing of cashmere from fibre to finished article. There is also a coffee shop and shopping opportunities aplenty in the mill shop.
Dava Way Trail
A 23-mile walking and cycling trail linking the towns of Forres and Grantown-on-Spey along the route of the former Highland Railway. The route links with the Moray Coastal trail at Forres and the Speyside Way at Grantown.
