ARBIKIE, the farm-based distillery in Angus, has launched its latest rye whisky.
Unlike limited editions of the whisky released over the past two years, the 1794 Highland Rye is not finished in a further cask.
Instead, it matures in virgin oak.
Iain Stirling, Arbikie’s export director and one of the three brothers who runs the distillery, said: “In a few years, from our launch limited-edition to expanding into major whisky markets, such as Canada and the United States, to now launching our signature 1794 edition, it’s a very exciting time at Arbikie as we look for further expansion in the Middle East and Asia.”
Arbikie recently won the “excellence in sustainability” category at the Scottish Whisky Awards, having scooped the “newcomer whisky distillery of the year” title at last year’s competition.
